The last day of the congress a Piperales workgroup was organised in which James F. Smith (Boise State University, USA) informed the audience about dating the origin of Piper and Peperomia. Lars Symmank (Technische Universität Dresden, Germany) gave a talk about the evolution of terrestrial life forms in the genus Peperomia and Harry T. Horner (Iowa State University, USA) highlighted leaf calcium oxalate crystal macropatterns in Peperomia. In the poster session, attention was drawn to the role of some digital tools (TRGP, PBO, DPP) in current Peperomia research.
